Have a few questions after first trip

Thought I'd take a minute after returning from my first outing in my new XLR 37X12SA to ask a few questions about some things that I found during my trip. 1. Does anyone else have a considerable pressure drop from the campground supply to their shower/bath faucet/kitchen faucet? I always put on a standard 40 psi pressure adapter at the campgrounds to keep from damaging my plumbing. This time I had to take it off to try and get some more pressure inside the trailer, but removing the adapter didn't help. My XLR came with a water filter installed. Could the water filter be dropping my pressure, or does all of the new faucets/shower heads just drop the pressure that much to conserve water? 2. I purchased the trailer in March and just got the chance to use it. We went down from Va. to Atlantic Beach area of NC and after 5 days there I emptied all of the tanks. The gauge in the control panel read empty on grey 1, grey 2 and black. We left there and went to Cape Hatteras for 7 days. I noticed that about mid week when I emptied the tanks, they would not drop below 1/3 on the gauge. I left there this morning and flushed the black tank with the factory installed flush device and let drain. did the same with the front grey tank. Now that I'm home, I checked the levels again and both the front grey tank and the black tank read 2/3. I'm almost positive that they are not clogged (at least not the grey shower tank, since nothing but shower water went down). What could be causing the gauges to read high levels when I drained both tanks until they stopped?

RE: how to plumb sewer pipe w/2 sewer outlets?

Maybe I was not clear.... At the front of the trailer, underneath the bathroom, I have 1 black line coming from the toilet and 1 gray line coming from the shower and sink (I guess) that merge into 1 3" outlet. About 6ft. back from that I have the 3" outlet for the gray tank that is fed from the kitchen sink. I'm looking to find out what everyone else has done to connect the front 3' outlet and the kitchen 3' outlet into 1 single hose to dump into the park connection. I know they make a "wye" from 2 to 1, but wondering how to connect the two 3' outlets? Is everyone just laying the hose on the ground or using the slinky type holders to get the poop to the park connection?

how to plumb sewer pipe w/2 sewer outlets?

Ok guys, I just know someone here can save me some brain power...... Getting my rig ready for the 1st outing. I'd like to know what everyone else has done to connect the bathroom black/gray sewer valve to the kitchen gray connection to end up with a single connection to the park's sewer connection. I know there are some inovative ideas out there, so giv'em up. Thanks in advance.

RE: Aero flow vent covers?

Yeah, I think I'll just stick with the 800 model over the fantastic fans. There's got to be a reason why it's so much cheaper. Thought it was worth asking though. thanks

Aero flow vent covers?

Wondering if anyone has used the Aero-flo vent covers over their Fantastic Fan? They claim that they work great with high power fans, but I have a hard time believing that they move as much air as a Maxx-Air 800 cover.

Atlantic Beach, NC

Hey everyone, Wondering if someone can recommend a nice campground close to the beach and not too expensive in the Atlantic Beach area of North Carolina? I'm hearing the Holiday Travel is very nice, but really don't want to pay close to $100/night.

best vent covers for fantastic fans?

Looking to install some vent covers on my TH. I have 2 that are fantastic fans. Will the MaxxAir II covers work or do I have to use another model? I like the new version of the MaxxAir because of the tilt feature/easy to clean. The old models were always getting pine straw underneath, and when you drive down the road and left the vent open the straw would end up sitting on top of the screen.

RE: Richmond

How is the campground at Kings Dominion? Haven't been to KD in years and years. Just noticed that they have a campground and wondering what it's like. Do they allow personal golf carts?

Tire pressure question

Wondering what tire pressure everyone is running on their TH tires that have E rated tires on them? I have 2 different labels on mine and not sure which to use. The 1st label in the manufacturer's label and states the correct tire size and calls for 80psi cold. The 2nd label is yellow/white in color and states the same tire size, but calls for 65psi cold. I think it's called "tire loading information" label. I know that most every E rated tire calls for up to 80psi but wondering why the lower 65psi. Dealer also told me 80psi when I took delivery. Anyone have simular situation?

RE: Leaf spring hanger broke!

What extended warranty company did you go with? I just purchased one from Interstate and according to the leaflet that they gave me they cover the following listed under "suspension": Wheel bearings, coil and leaf springs, shackles, shackle bushings, spindles, spindle supports, axle shafts, actuators. Hope this might help someone.

RE: Forest River XLR 3912

If you want to post some pics, it's probably just as easy to add link to webshots and post the pics there.

RE: Forest River XLR 3912

Just picked up my new XLR in mid March. It's a 37X12SA model. Basically a 39X12 with the living area/kitchen floor plan of a standard 37X12. It sure is a big joker. Only had a few loose screws and a couple of dead remote batteries so far. Seems to be built pretty good for a trailer. I agree with ya about the stereo..... Looks better than it sounds. Wonder if it's the way they have it wired. I would have thought that the bass would have put out a little more sound than it does. And don't ya have to love that enclosed bathroom! The sliding door between the living area and the garage is nice too. I looked for 4 months before deciding on mine, so I feel pretty good about the decision.

couch/bed combo in garage

Wondering if anyone that owns a TH with the couch/bed combo in the garage can tell me if their back to the couch lifts up and locks in the 90 degree position? Both of the backs on mine only come up and lock at about 45 degrees. Feels like I'm one of those young punks in the rice burners with the seat laid back trying to look cool. Not really comfortable either.

Anyone have a Gear Vendor Aux. trans installed?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but.... Anyone have or know someone who has a Gear Vendor auxillary underdrive/overdrive installed on their tow vehicle or motorhome?? I'd like to know how they perform when towing.

Anyone heard this rumor???

My neighbor just got from camping in Savanna, Ga. this week. He stopped by today to tell me that he talked with someone at the campground who says that all of the manufacturers are getting away from 3 axle trailers due to the tire failure rate. Anyone heard this rumor yet??

Wireless tire pressure monitors

Anyone have an opinion or experience on using wireless tire pressure monitors? If so, what brand? My neighbor installed some on his fifth wheel and swears by them after going through all 4 of his tires and ripping off one his fenders. He was on the way to get it repaired when another blew out, but the tire pressure monitor set off the alarm and he was able to pull off before causing any damage. He is using the "Pressure Pro" brand.

RE: Forest River XLR (All American Sport)??????

550, I looked for at least 3 months at different models to a point where I was just out of my mind. The XLR was the All American Sports from Forest River. Actually, in 06' & 07', they made them both. After hearing and reading a lot of bad comments on the All American Sport I was not interested. I ended up making a trip to Maryland from Va. to look at the Heartland Cyclone 3795(which I was dead set on) and after looking at the Cyclone, it just wasn't what I had hoped it would be. I thought the outside was great, but when I got inside I just couldn't put my finger on what I didn't like about it. I looked at a few others and they had the an XLR 37X12 in stock. Since I was there I figured "what will it hurt?" Well to my suprise I really liked it! I picked and picked and couldn't find anything wrong with it. After that day, I continued to look for another 2 months. I was down to the Cross Terrain, the KZ New Vision and the XLR. I couldn't get the Cross Terrain because I couldn't get 16" wheels and tires or the axle flipped (according to the factory rep.) and KZ stopped producing the 38SB I liked. Everything led right back to the XLR. I'm glad I waited because during the time I spent looking and looking, they came out with a new floorplan which was the 37X12SA. It has the same combined bath as the 39X12 and we could still get the sliding door to the garage. I really like the 385X12 too but another slide just might be too much. If you search the site, there is a guy named David that purchased a 39X12 last November. He said he picked his unit to death and is very happy with it. He talked with a rep. from Forest River before purchasing his and I think the guy told him that they built a toy hauler only plant to increase quality control. Search XLR and you'll find it I sure. I'm expecting my unit in any day now. Hope this helps.
